I, an American, am curious if British people really drink as much tea as portrayed in movies and shows. Anything I watch that is set in Britain shows them drinking tea in almost every scene. A cop shows up to ask questions about a crime? “I’ll put the kettle on” random person shows up? Here’s some tea. Going to kill me? “How do you take it? Milk or sugar?” Help me out, does this really happen?! Are you always drinking tea and do you offer it to any and every single person that shows up at your door?
Follow up question: if this is a reality, how much do you actually spend on tea???? Seems like a lot
I also read a book recently that was set in an uninhabited island, and about them surviving their environment and all they seemed to care about was getting their cuppa.
