Should I Sue Steam? /u/CryTechChaos Steam on Reddit

Calling all legal students or those with experience.

This actually goes back 7 years ago which will lead me to what happened yesterday on why I want to sue. Basically a long time ago I loved CSGO, I was even working on the competitive side of gaming. My OG account ended up getting hacked/stolen, I had about $3,500 worth of skins with another maybe $1000 in games gone in the snap of a finger. The guy ended up scamming a few of my friends cause they thought it was me sending the trade offers (this was back when you could glitch the trade box and it shows you are trading items but really had nothing there). Well support basically told me and my friends to kick rocks and to this DAY the account is still actively scamming/hacking other people.

Now, a few years ago I decided to go back to steam just to play Ready or Not shorty after its release. My PC ended up taking a dump so I haven’t been able to play up until last week. Everything was fine up until yesterday when I went to play with friends but got a notification saying my account was temp banned from community actions, etc etc due to Fraud???…. I contact support explaining the situation and how I literally haven’t traded or purchased anything I literally only play Ready or Not and thats it cause the past interactions with them.

They replied with this:

“Hello there,

I understand your concern and where you’re coming from.

However, please be advised that the account has been locked for violating the Steam Subscriber Agreement based on the account activity, community reports, and other factors.

Please note that Steam accounts are non-transferable. They are not intended to be bought, sold, or traded.

This lock is permanent and Steam Support cannot help you further with this.

Because we have provided all the information we have I am closing this help request. Please note that future help requests submitted regarding the lock may be closed without a reply.

Basically implying that I sold or traded something but they can see I haven’t ever done anything of the source since making the damn account. So your telling me hackers/scammers are allowed to run rampant no consequences. But innocent people such as myself and some friends get accounts false flagged by their AI just playing games? Like I have proof of everything, still even have the proof of purchase back when I first bought the game cause its the only thing I ever used my PayPal for cause I didn’t trust linking a card after the situation with my first account getting stolen and them not caring.

Is this probable cause to sue? Cause I still got proof they are letting multiple scammers run free and wild with my account and other stolen accounts like my one buddy. But yet, I make a steam account just to purchase 1 game. Had it for a few years, login and a few days later receive an account ban to where I can’t do a damn thing.
