Ps5 /u/MRrakers Monster Hunter: World

Just restarted MHWI on the PS5 as a couch game next to my partner whenever she’s drawing.

I have over 500 hours back on ps4 but lost the save file so we go again haha, I also played tons on PC (having near perfect endgame sets). Anyways, the thing I can’t remember is what I should do first.

I want to rush to Iceborne so I’m using the defender set. Can anyone enlighten me with the different threshold quests i need for mantles/upgrades and is it worth doing canteen quests now or should I just blast to Iceborne and revisit those quests in MR sets?

Side question; Is there a decent playerbase on ps5 (eu, NL) for sieges, Alatreon and Fatalis quests?

Thanks for taking the time to answer as I relentlessly scour the interwebs to gather the info I want. (Sadly I haven’t found a checklist of notable quests yet).
