Do recovered alcoholics need to stay 100% dry for the rest of their lives, or can they have a beer every once in a while with no issues? /u/penttane No such thing as stupid questions

I see a lot of people say they’ve been “sober for X years” but I don’t actually know if this means they didn’t have a single drink, or just that they didn’t get drunk in that time.
