Any other bootcamp or CS grads left the industry due to burnout? What’d you do next? /u/Ok-Key9443 CSCQ protests reddit

I’m a senior swe at a very large tech company. Have a degree (not in CS).

Did the bootcamp route back in 2016 (actually dropped out cause I ended up teaching myself haha). Been at the same company since I got into this field and worked my way from junior to senior.

I’m at 8 years tenure now and have built some awesome things. I’ve always known I was on borrowed time though so I have saved and invested wisely. I feel the end times are here, even for some of the CS grads. With Leon trying to import cheap labor that’s just another nail in the coffin.

Since I got my job I’ve bought a house and have over $550k invested with zero debt aside from my mortgage. I think I’m ready to scale back to something more chill and reasonable that allows me to just pay my mortgage and fuck off. I don’t have kids and never will so I just need to worry about myself. My gf has her own income and I don’t support her financially.

Any ideas or anyone else who went through similar? I’m tired. I’m burnt out. I can’t see myself grinding for many more years in this industry. I’m young enough to let my current investments grow 2-3 decades. I’ve damn near given it my all and so proud of myself but I think it’s coming to an end.

Thanks for any advice
