Family Sharing Issues with Gift Card in one account and game in another /u/ivanjay2050 Steam on Reddit

Hi everyone,

Originally we bought a game for my son in my steam account since we used to share one steam account and he is a child. Since they added family sharing I gave him his own Steam account which he used to play the game via family sharing.

For the holidays his Uncle got him a steam gift card which he applied to his account.

Now the game is in my account and the gift card in his. He wants to buy a DLC for the game but it wont let him because he doesnt technically own the game.

Is there anyway to get around this? Either move the gift card to my account, game to his account or buy the DLC since he has access to it via family sharing anyway?
