Help me understand the difference in AI /u/inobody_somebody Python Education

Okay I don’t know if this sub is totally relavent to post this question but here me out. In my 4th semester i enrolled in AI course as one of my subject. The course taught us various searching techniques and some AI bot stuff like tic tac toe computer program that never looses a game etc. I want to do some projects and I searched some AI projects like a computer program to play chess kind of stuff. I got results like AI chat bot, AI to predict abnormalities etc which involves ML and DL. My question is why is the first ai Hardcoded algorithm and second AI is just some wrappers of DL and ML. Which is actually an AI?
