ps5 controller issue /u/Jakeplayspkmn Steam on Reddit

I have 2 ps5 controllers, one of which recently developed stick drift, so naturally I plugged in the other one and for some reason the buttons on it aren’t working, I used hardwaretester.com to try and diagnose the issue and only the analogue sticks and triggers/bumpers work. x, o, triangle and square and the D-Pad don’t respond as an input. idk what’s happening and would really like a fix. also when I try and use it on my actual ps5 it doesn’t even connect, even if I plug it in via USB. please help. I don’t know if it could have something to do with steam, I have already disabled steam input but there could be a hidden setting i’m turning a blind eye to, if so please help if possible.
