Kenku or Aarakocra /u/Strange_Assist6309 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Hi, I’m a amateur DM and one of the campaign I’ve been thinking of doing with my friends is one centered around feudal Japan, yokai, etc.

I’ve been doing some investigation and so I decided that it would be easy to use the already playabkle races from DnD and just flabour them visually to resemble said yokai(tabaxy as nekomatas, triton as kappas, orc as onis, etc). But know I’ve been torn appart over witch bird-like race should do a better work to be a Karasu Tengu.

For context, Karasu Tengu, or simply callled Tengu are bird like creatures with a phisical apearence similar to an anthropomorphic crow.
Now of course, the first though is to make Kenkus(bird-like race that look like anthropomorphic crows) being the ones selected to play as Tengu, but of course, one important trait from the Tengus is that, they fly.

So know I’m not sure if I should keep the Kenku or leaning towards Aarakocra(another bird-like race that has the ability to fly) as a better suiter to pay as a Karasu Tengu.
