If anyone has seen the above video or any similar videos (possibly from the same dude), you probably know what the “click” is when the game finally “clicks” and makes sense.
It is no secret that like 30% of the player base drops out before the tutorial is over and like 20% more than that never make it out of low rank.
My friend is one of those players and I know why he doesn’t like the game. He told me that he got sick of farming every single monster, killing them 20+ times for enough materials to craft their entire armor set and every weapon associated with it. He said that’s how he thought the game was supposed to be played and once he got to the first tier of upgrades, he refused to go back and upgrade every weapon again.
If it gives anymore context- he doesn’t even remember which weapon he used. He didn’t play for long at all and completely maxed out like 4 monster’s weapon sets, thinking that’s how he played the game. I told him that I beat the game with one armor set and he said that doesn’t sound fun to him. He is more of a collector for achievements, I know, but he also favors dark souls games over any other.
I’m going to try and get him to try out Wilds because it seems more his speed, but what should I do to encourage him to (for lack of better words) play the right way 😂. I want him to “click” because he would truly love this series based on the other games he likes (Dragon’s Dogma, Final Fantasy, all the DS Series + Sekiro and Elden Ring, Sweaty/Twitchy fighter games, etc).
