So Ive been talking to (and going on dates) with this girl for the past couple weeks. After being told “the panties stay on tonight” I didnt think much of it. Could be a period, could be waiting for personal reasons etc.
Anyway, the next time things started progressing, she broke the news to me. She caught it over a year ago and takes Valtrex to prevent outbreaks. I was told “to sleep on it for a week”.
I dont see us getting married or anything but it feels like we’re good for each other at the moment. We both got out of LTRs and arent trying to rush into a relationship. The attraction is obvious. I haven’t felt this much enthusiasm directed at me in years and its done a lot to help my self esteem.
Obviously I would be wearing a condom and we would be monogamous, but is there anything else I can do to prevent the risk of catching it? Such as taking antiviral meds or just not going “all the way in” (so theres no skin to skin contact around genitals).
If I had sex with her (with a condom) is this something I would need to disclose to future partners? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
