I recently passed the interview process with SkillStorm and received an offer to work for Deloitte in Lake Mary, FL. The role is as a Salesforce Developer, working within the Salesforce tech stack. While I’m considering the offer, there are several aspects I find concerning.
Firstly, I’ve never worked with the Salesforce tech stack before, although I’ve heard it’s somewhat similar to Java. Secondly, the position involves a two-year contract. If I breach the contract by leaving early, I would be required to pay back thousands of dollars for the training and certifications they’ve invested in me. Lastly, the role is not remote. The contract explicitly states that I must relocate to Florida. Given my current financial situation, I’m hesitant to move, especially if I wouldn’t even be going into the office regularly. Relocating would leave me living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to cover living expenses and student debt. Ultimately I heard that WFH depends on the client and their clients needs.
Ultimately, I’m looking for advice or feedback—particularly from anyone who has experience with SkillStorm. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
