So me and my friends are picking up our D&D game here soon, we haven’t played for a few months due to availability. In the last game we played our groups Paladin did something that I think may have violated one of the tenants of his oath, however it may be a bit of a stretch. What I want to do is not make it my choice at all and make it the choice on the player, what I mean by that is this. The next time the Paladin goes and uses one of his oath based abilities I’m going to ask him if it works, as in if his character believes he violated his oath or not which would make the ability fail or work. I think it’d be a neat way to make a ruling, and I trust the player in question to make the decision he believes to be the right one. Thoughts?
