Cathouse/ Tearoom Level 5 Bastion /u/Korombos DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Level 5 free starting bastion suggestion

I originally wrote this up as a suggestion in hayzie93‘s post. I then flipped through the dmg, trying to figure out how to make it work as a starter at level 5. It would be much easier to make work by combining a few players’ bastions and using some money to enlarge facilities… such as a bathroom. Maybe swap the kitchen for a bathroom…

What do you think? Is the idea balanced?

Cathouse/ Tearoom

Level 5 Bastion facility

Prerequisite: Thieves’ Cant language proficiency

Space: Roomy

Hirelings: 1

Order: Recruit / Harvest

A bastion can have more than one Cathouse/ Tearoom, each of which is furnished to serve as sleeping quarters for Employees and small entertainment rooms in which they perform their services. A Cathouse/ Tearoom can house and employ up to six Employees. One Hireling housed in this facility must manage the Employees.

Recruit: Each time you issue the Recruit order to this facility, up to two Employees are recruited to your Bastion and assigned quarters in this Cathouse/ Tearoom. This recruitment costs 25 gp per employee. You can’t issue the Recruit order to this facility if it’s fully occupied.

Keep track of the Employees housed in each of your Cathouses/ Tearooms. If you lose them, deduct them from your roster. Assign names and personalities to your Employees as you see fit.

Harvest: You have the Employees focus on making money for seven days and turning a share over to you. Roll 1d6 for each Employee minus the manager. You collect that much gp.

Enlarging the facility: You may enlarge your Cathouse/ Tearoom to a Vast facility by spending 2,000 gp. A Vast Cathouse/ Tearoom may accommodate up to twelve Employees.

Bastion Events:

GUEST: Roll a d6 instead of a d4 (5) Demanding Guest: This guest demands entertainment by 1d4+1 employees. If they cannot be accomodated, they spread bad gossip about your Cathouse/ Tearoom and you will not be able to Harvest this facility for 1d4 weeks. If they can be accomodated, you gain 1d4x25 gp. (6) Business is Good!: you get an extra Harvest action this time.
