Wouldn’t the staff of a billionaire bunker just take over? /u/HecticOnsen No such thing as stupid questions

So I’m assuming that in the scenario where you have had to hole up in a bunker in New Zealand it is a result of a significant societal collapse.

I’ve only met two billionaires so it’s a small sample size – but they didn’t cook their own meals or grow their own produce (afaik), couldn’t repair or maintain anything and had a fairly limited/specific skill set. In short, in the event of a catastrophe it seemed like they would not be able to survive on their own.

Presumably then, their bunker is designed to have a bunch of maintenance staff, cooks, cleaners, gardeners, security and so forth. What would be their reason to work and why wouldn’t they overthrow the billionaire and family?

I can see for a short term event that there is a financial and legal incentive, but the scenario that puts a billionaire in a bunker is likely to be unresolvable, as for anything else they can probably find somewhere globally to ride it out.

TLDRNSQ- what stops the staff of a private bunker from killing and eating the owner?
