Took nearly the whole event length, but I got not only the Bronze Celebration gear (T2 upgrades, etc.), vendor mogs, but also every mog from the BRD raid (87 in all!) and every Timely Tourist mog (54 of them.) Yes, I’m aware that the BRD ones are the same as the ones in the original BRD, but these are new Item IDs… so that’s all the excuse I need. I started by farming the weekly boxes on 12 toons (2 each – the world boss one and the Chromie one, those two were the fastest), then stated doing LFR on classes that had better drop opportunities for what I still needed. I tried to beg for people’s unwanted drops, which worked a little – but annoyingly, a majority of the drops are Warbound and cannot be traded. Ultimately, with about ~25 patterns to go I just started chaining as much LFR as I could for keysets to buy the remaining mogs. Once the number of keysets I had equaled the missing patterns, then I just stopped and bought out the rest. Chromie was a different issue because I had to rely on the boxes. But, I realized that there are two different loot boxes: The Level 80 version has a Warbound 571 item, pulled from the entire table of 58 items. But the Leveling Box (pre-80) has a soulbound item specifically for your class: one of the 8 armor set items, 2 cloaks, or neck, or 3 rings – or a weapon that your class can actually use (not just equip), and does not regard current or selected spec. I also noticed that:
So, I started chain-creating toons so that I could get two boxes each run (Weekly + reg.), paying attention to which class gave me the best chance for the items I had left. For example, the final 5 items I needed were the Agility staff, Bow, Agility Mace, Offhand, and 2H Axe. Monk is the only class that can loot 3 of those, so I started there and quickly the Mace dropped. After that, I did Hunter and got the Bow. Since I still needed the Staff, I went to Druid (both Monk and Druid could drop Staff/Offhand, but Druid has one less drop in their table since they cannot drop the 1H Agi Mace). The Offhand dropped next, so back to Hunter to get the Staff (one less drop than Druids), then finally DK to get the Axe. (Full Disclaimer: For the final 3, I used two accounts on two computers to party two lowbies and get four loot boxes per run!) Oh, and this whole mess gave me over 55K Time badges and ~1030 extra tokens which will be another 20K badges. Sorry for all the writing, but I wanted to share my success – and for newer players out there, a view into the mind of a completist farmer. Enjoy! submitted by /u/BasicUser37 |
