My 60 and change mom wants to learn to play! /u/yodas_patience DnD: Roll for Initiative!

So, like the title says, my mom wants to get into the feeling of being a dice gobbo! I’m gonna have to dm, and I’m a noob dm! So, that being said, it would probably just wind up as a 2 person game. Any tips, ideas or comments yall? I know this ain’t much to read, but yall have been an awesome community before. For reference, I’m gonna use 5th edition, as I know it’s a fairly noon friendly system.
