The scenario: Let’s say some super ceo or tech board is looking at the entire tech industry as a single entity. The situation demands that 90% of the devs are laid off. We want to keep the top 10% developers left in the industry, therefore this can’t be a random chance layoff. How does this get done?
Whatever gets proposed must be realistic: i.e. you can’t administer a nationwide test or contest to select who survives for example.
You’ve got to treat like a regular layoff: extended industry wide.
