Basically what the title says. I’m really new to dnd (my second campaign outside playing BG3), and am in a Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign with some friends. Was talked into playing as a fighter champion, and, tbh, I’m bored as all hell in combat. All I do is walk up to an enemy and attack a bunch until one or more hits land. That’s my turn. Everyone else is something magic related and spend a lot of time debating what attacks/spells to use, and I’m sitting there zoned out. Now they want to talk tactics and I’m like “what tactics”? Want to make this work/be fun for me, but have no clue how to approach this? Any advise would be hugely welcomed!
TLDR: newbie fighter in a party of experienced mages, am very bored and want to make my combat fun.
