Is it okay not to be an expert? /u/MaintenanceExact4031 Sex

My and my gf have done quite a bit of hand stuff, and so we’ve moved on to oral, and today was basically the first time i gave her oral. I’ve given her a little bit before but never for very long because we’d be interrupted. But I we both realized I have no idea what I’m doing. She got me to stop and basically explained what to do, so I have 2 questions, is it okay that I didn’t know what I was doing? I know confidence is a big thing, and I don’t think i ever stopped being confident…. untill im making this post, but I took her advice and tried again right away. But my other question is how do I ask her if I did it right when I tried again? Thank you in advanced
