Why go in the stall right next to someone when the rest are open? /u/Sea_Fly8988 No such thing as stupid questions

When every other bathroom stall is open, why choose the stall directly next to the only other occupied one?

It happens to me maybe 50% of the time I find myself in an (initially) empty bathroom.

Why do people do this?
