Theoretical question:If a mimic can polymorph into any object, where does it end? [OC] /u/medi_dat DnD: Roll for Initiative!

So. A mimic can polymorph into any object. A corpse is an object, so is a chest, so is loot. A mimic can be any of those right?

Following with that train of thought. A house can’t be a mimic, but all the objects that make up the house can be mimics so every brick, every wooden board, every nail, every door, every slate, you get the idea. Could I reasonably create a house of mimics? Or is there a limit on what an object is?
