I’ll try to keep this short. My mom bought me the Mists of Pandaria collector’s edition for Christmas back in 2012. At that time, my dad was going through cancer treatment and I would try to not think about all that by playing WoW.

Something about questing and leveling in Pandaria filled me with so much peace and I had a lot of fun exploring the new zones. For me, it is my favorite expansion and I first started playing WoW at the end of Cataclysm so it was my first full expansion.

My dad ended up passing away on November 10th 2013 from cancer. Looking at these achievements tells me that I was trying to drown out my grief in the great land of Pandaria. Seeing the ones from 2012 makes me remember a point in time where my dad was alive and I was happily grinding the Order of the Cloud Serpent reputation. WoW will always have a soft spot in my heart even if I decide to not play in the future.

I picked the game back up for TWW and I’m having a blast so far. Thank you Blizzard for helping a young teen manage his grief and mourning, and thanks for making MoP.
