To get the ball rolling: why the hell do shop keepers magically know you stole from them and refuse to trade with you if you don’t get caught? If they only refuses to trade after you got busted once I’d understand, but the in universe implication is they saw you steal, decided not to say anything for some reason (despite sometimes saying something if you do it right in front of their face) and only bother calling the guard over when you try to trade them. Makes no God damn sense.
