Not sure about picking between Cloud or Cyber
I’m a software developer with 2 years experience. I got this role through an apprenticeship but I’m not sure which way to progress. Most of my experience is SQL databases, querying it and and resolving issues that occur in the front end.
Cloud/DevOps or Cyber
Now for Cloud the only reason I want to do it because on a whim I started learning AWS and got the certs (CPP, SAA) For it and I am also learning how to use and maintain Ci/cd pipelines. Just learning it so I’m not anywhere advanced still near the start I feel
Cyber because before I got this job I wanted to get into cyber and i just like the concept and what surrounds cyber security more. My idea of it being more learning about threats and analysis and all that jazz.
I know both of these are not entry level role And especially for cyber as I think ill need to get a more hands on experiences understanding off Networks and not theoretical which means I’ll have to start off in helpdesk and move up which is OK.
But I’m not sure if because I’m learning about cloud and doing cloud labs in romanticising the idea of moving towards cyber.
Just need some advice
