I’ve been at a relatively big company for almost a year now, having only worked small, poorly organized gigs during college before. Everything seems to be going fine, the management is satisfied with the work I do and how I handle projects and tasks and I get along with most of the teams
However, there’s been a couple times when I outright asked really dumb questions either due to lacking some of the language fundamentals or missing some crucial pieces of code that would explain it due to not looking hard enough. I since did my best to reduce the number of questions I ask to near none but I feel like I’ve already made an impression to some of the senior engineers that I’m a complete moron and that I should be let go at the first opportunity and replaced with someone competent
Should I try to somehow compensate somehow? I’m trying to be as careful as I can but every now and then my inexperience makes me look dumb. I know this is a learning opportunity and I make sure to memorize it but every time this happens I feel like it just reinforces the belief of people who matter that I’m pretty useless and should be replaced
