Why johns fate was soo much sadder than Arthur’s /u/Reallyfrmtharaq076 Red Dead Redemption

Johns Fate is still so much sadder to me for a few reasons

1.) he did everything he was supposed to to secure the money for the robbery and still got betrayed by dutch

2.) he was one of not the most loyal to Dutch behind Arthur yet Dutch assumed he was a snitch because he was caught by the law alive (hosa was more of a father figure to Dutch so his loyalty is never questioned )

3.) he didn’t realize how important fatherhood was until jack was kidnapped he ran away from his responsibility out of fear and ignorance

4.) John realized how important family was due to Arthur’s sacrifice this moment shifted how he felt about Abigail and jack

  1. He’s forced to not only kill his former gang members but his family gets taken from him once again in a way where he cannot refuse to do what he’s told

6.) Johns death is more sudden and abrupt he doesn’t truly get a chance to process the betrayal that the government did he accepts the fact that he must die or continue running his entire life which at that current age (somewhere around 37-38) would’ve been harder as he found a sense of stability and didnt want to rob jack and Abigail of

Arthur’s death is tragic but ultimately Micah isn’t the reason he dies (depending on your honor level) tuberculosis took Arthur’s life a fully healthy Arthur would’ve destroyed micah no problem
