I switched to switch axe, I have questions /u/WXRRIED- Monster Hunter: World

I used lance till now im mr 19 i want to try switch it seems cool but I don’t understand something:

(Xbox controls if you can, or attack names)

Is there any reason I would attack with the axe instead of sword? I know axe has more mobility so I try to use this when the monster is somewhat far or is enraged, what attacks do you even go for in axe form?

Whats a fast way to switch mode, lets say the monster fell down and I want to switch to sword fast, do I use the normal switch or attack into switch or what should I do

Sword mode itself is not as confusing to me I think, I just know I have the B+B for amped state and Y+Y+Y+B or Y/B are the good ones

Any general idea would be nice tho, I always find guides but they just tell you about the moveset and never when you should use it.
