Seeking Advice on Project Inclusion in My Career Experience /u/softhi CSCQ protests reddit

I recently interviewed with a company and dedicated two months to build a project specifically for them. I invested countless hours and effort, working late into the night—about ten all-nighters—using their frontend and backend frameworks. They LOVE my work. They said no one other candidates had done X and done Y and wonder how I have done those things.

Unfortunately, I feel I stumbled during the final interview when I couldn’t answer a question about indexing, which has left me worried. It broke me and I did not come up with a very good solution in another system design test (It works but not great that kind of design)

Currently, I have an eight-month gap in my employment history. I’m considering whether to include this project in my career experience, labeling it as a temp project for the company. (I do have emails and github repo to back up that I am actually working the project) Alternatively, should I categorize it as a personal project? Could that pass any background test?

For context, I have eight years of experience in development and five years as an analyst. What do you think?
