I read alot of stories about “your friends is not your D&D friend” and currently for me, this is correct.
Maybe it’s just me that is emotional about it, but I just want to vent since I, a chicken, cannot tell them this.
So I ran 6 sessions of LMoP with my closest friends and we dedicated this campaign for our 1 friend before he goes back to work overseas. Lets call him Joe. We use Foundry, and I waste my time on translating the module (bcs we are not english speaker) and styling my journal so I can read them better (yes I can’t read if it’s cluttered).
All 6 sessions went great, but the last one is kinda a warning sign for me. Joe sleeping schedule is like Batman, sleeps during the day but at night he’s up. But the rest can’t do that bcs they have work to do. So scheduling is a nightmare. I am getting stressed out after 5 times canceling bcs he did not answer the call when it’s time for a session.
Another friend in the group, lets call her Karen. She always sounds like is a hassle to play, creating a character last minute and ask me to fill in her spells. She also get mad when the thing she want to do does not make sense (She cannot speak dwarvish but insisting me that she understands them because no one in the party speaks dwarvish).
I’m so frustated and I know I just can communicate this with them but I just really burned out. Feels like I just want to quit this hobby all together but I just don’t want to waste my money since I bought the physical copy of PHB 2024, Icewind Dale, Curse of Strahd and The Shattered Obelisk just FOR US to play.
Sorry if this story is just me being a baby.
