Learning Python after C++ /u/Automatic-Yak4017 Python Education

So I’m a computer science major student and have spent the last two years studying C++ and Java. I decided to take some private time learning Python on my own. Python seems so very dumbed down compared to what I’ve done. Is Python really as versatile as they say? It just seems like I’m working backwards in my studies learning these other languages 1st.
