Why do youtubers demonstrate tech/products that people can’t afford? /u/Agent_seb No such thing as stupid questions

More or less the title. For example, if you’ve ever seen a video where a youtuber says something along the lines of, “check out this cool thing, it does something really cool and/or convenient, in fact this item isn’t even clearly declared as sponsored so it’s probably just my opinion that it’s cool or I’ve seen other youtubers do this, ” then the guy in the comments points out that the youtuber is basically advertising a 1500$ pen or something obscure. I’m sure not many people are youtubers or youtube adjacent but theories are welcome if a direct answer is unknown.

(Sorry if this comes across as breaking rule 9 as a rant- I don’t mean for it to be. I’m genuinely curious because I can’t possibly figure out a reason)
