Upskilling after Masters? /u/astronights CSCQ protests reddit

Hi folks,

I’ve got 3.5 years of experience (after my undergrad, excluding my Masters) as a Software engineer / ML engineer.

It’s been rough looking for a change in firm (since I’m unhappy with my current) and I’m constantly trying to find ways to build things and hone my skills.

While my current title says Data Scientist, I’ve come to realize my talents lie as a technologist, ideating and building technology that leverages data (so maybe something closer to a Machine Learning Engineer?).

I’ve built a few open source packages that I really enjoyed and I’d be super excited to join firms on their ML / AI engineering teams.

I feel like I’ve reached the end of my rope trying to add things to my CV / LinkedIn / GitHub and yet I’m still struggling. I’ve brought myself to question that my resume is stagnating.

Are there ways I can upskill myself to give my resume a bump as I get screened for job applications?

Thanks for the help.
