I’ve noticed almost everything I wear is too big for me. /u/torssk /r/malefashionadvice

Every time I see myself in a full length photo or I catch myself in a store mirror it hits me at how baggy all my clothes are. And it’s not a good look, whether out or even at home. I look like a skeleton swimming inside a partially inflated wavy guy promotional machine.

I’m of rather medium proportions, I’d say. 5’9, 160 lbs but will take that down to about 150-155, small-med frame size. I could give specific measurements if that would be helpful. And my physique is a work in progress but it’s not terrible.

But, for example, I have a pullover I wear around the house that was a gift and it’s size XXLG! I’m just lost in this thing and although it’s warm and cozy it makes me look–and therefore feel–a bit like mush.

I don’t need suits and tailored clothing. I just want casual wear that fits me flatteringly. T-shirts, button down shirts, jeans, other pants, sweaters, jackets, etc.

I know there is some chaos in the sizing of garments these years. So, any general advice on how to find clothing that actually fits and enhances my body’s appearance and makes me feel competent and “on it,” I’d really appreciate.
