Why is there a growing movement of anti-intellectualism? How can we fight against this? /u/Migxr No such thing as stupid questions

It seems that there has been an anti-intellectualist movement that has been growing rapidly over the last decade or so, especially after COVID, characterised by a complete disregard for science and experts’ opinions. This is probably most obvious in the anti-vaccination groups, but seemingly exists everywhere with flat-earthers, evolution-deniers (I’m not sure if there is a real technical term for this as ‘evolution-deniers’ doesn’t look right), etc.

Perhaps I’m not old enough to know that these groups always existed in the numbers they currently do (I am only 23), but this seems to be a recent problem that is growing alarmingly.
