Hi,
I recently got a job offer and I’m struggling to decide between the two opportunities.
My current job is Senior Data Scientist and the TC 170K all in . The job is at a traditional corporate F500 company that is not in the tech industry at all. 3 days in person, 2 days remote a week. I am interested in the general AI/ML space, but this company’s infra very young so my work will be a lot of setting things up and establishing MLOps best practices. I also have high visibility with execs but moving up within this company would likely mean moving out of tech and more into management.
The job offer I received is MLOps Engineer at a tech consulting company, and the TC is about 146K all in. Fully remote, and the MLOps Infra/Standards are much more fleshed out.
To me, as I’m early in my career, I’m considering the second one because it seemingly allows for more focused growth in a specific field that’s growing fast. Also the remote is a plus, but the main hesitancy is with compensation. I’m curious what y’all would take if you were in my situation, just so I can get some perspective.
Thanks!
