What are good excuses/reasons to explain frequent job hopping? This question kills me every time /u/lostmymainagain123 CSCQ protests reddit

Hello. 4YOE Cloud eng and finally got some interest shown in me. In my 4YOE I have had 4 separate jobs, all for about a year. These are the real reasons I left:

First job, was severely underpaid (half of market value), it was also in the gambling industry and i felt it unethical to work there

2nd job I don’t really have a good reason, I just hated every single person I worked with and managers sucked

3rd job Was magnificent, I loved working there for the first 14 or so months then the company got acquired by a parent company and they completely gutted everything, put people where they shouldn’t, stripped every benefit etc.

4th job I thought was going well, not sure how it works in other countries but in Australia you are on a ‘probation period’ for X amount of time in which you can be fired for no/any reason. 2 days before my 6 month probationary period ended I was randomly dragged into a meeting with HR and fired for ‘performance reasons’. Very suspicious as nobody had mentioned performance issues at all, I had 1-1 meetings with my EM every week where I asked how my performance was and he said good. There was also mysteriously 3 offshore engineers hired on my team the same month I was fired, but I feel it’s taboo to mention that.

Any suggestions?
