Hi all, I’ll get straight to the point, my bf has a very strong fishy odor emitting from his penis, specifically the head (he is uncircumcised), even DIRECTLY after showering. I have showered with him many times and helped show him how best to thoroughly clean it because he used to kind of just neglect that whole region. The problem is that even immediately after showering and cleaning it, it STILL smells so overwhelming, almost to the point of making me gag. It turns me off beyond belief every time we have sex, it makes me not want to suck it nonetheless even put it inside my vagina. It’s not so strong that I smell it through his pants or anything, but when I go down on him or even jerk him off for example, my hand will literally reek of fish and it’s disgusting.
I’ve tried bringing this up gently with him and he always just says he does clean it thoroughly, so I’m not really sure what else to do. What else could it be from? I’ve read that men can’t actually have BV, but they can transmit the bacteria back to their partner if their partner has had it. I have definitely had issues with BV in the past and I think it’s become this vicious cycle where, whatever bacteria he has on his penis gives me BV, which I then transmit back to him, and so on so forth. I’m just curious if anyone else has had experience with this, because it’s not his hygiene or his diet. Thanks in advance!
