I’m a 21 year old male and I have a medical condition called ‘buried penis’. It may sound silly and stupid (because it is) but it’s actually a real condition. It’s basically when the penis sinks and retracts into your body under the pubic fat pad mainly due to being obese.
This happened when I was 18 years old. I was masturbating a lot at the time and I noticed it getting smaller until my penis essentially just shrunk, it basically sank into my body. I first noticed it when I couldn’t urinate normally, I had to pull the foreskin back over the head of the penis which would then go against the pressure of the surrounding fat pad otherwise urine would spray everywhere and get stuck within the foreskin. I can still wash under the foreskin but it’s just more difficult than before. I can still masturbate multiple times a day, however I do not know if I can actually have sexual intercourse.
I’m in the UK. I visited a Urologist and he told me it was because I was obese. At the time my height was 5’7 and my weight was over 250 lbs. He told me to lose weight, to get to a healthy BMI, and then to visit him a year or so later. I lost about 84 lbs, it took me less than a year. I went back for a follow up appointment and he congratulated me on the weight loss however he said that weight loss doesn’t always work because sometimes there’s still excess fat left after weight loss. He told me I could either lose more weight, and he would refer me to a Urological Surgeon to discuss potentially a liposuction where the fat would be removed and the penis would essentially be unburied. My Urologist was advising me to just be confident and said that the surgery is risky and kind of was acting like I shouldn’t get it but at the same time he still referred me to a Urological Surgeon.
There was a mix up in the appointments last year and I wasn’t told the date of the appointment so I missed it. However, I’m thinking of getting in contact with the hospital to try and rebook the appointment so I can discuss my next options. I want to discussion the pros and cons to the surgery with a professional, etc. If I decide to get the surgery I would have to lose all that weight again which I’m already in the process of doing otherwise I won’t be allowed to have the surgery.
I’m just worried about the risks of the surgery but at the same time if I don’t get the surgery once I’ve lost all that weight again then I may not be able to have sexual intercourse. I’m still a virgin who has never had a girlfriend which just makes it even worse.
