Was my ex girlfriend cheating on me?? /u/AnxiousStar8385 Sex

So im laying in bed trying to sleep right now and i just started thinking about random stuff and eventually i started thinking about sex and specifically about something that I experienced with my ex girlfriend a couple times. So me (M21) and my ex girlfriend (F20) were in a long term committed relationship and she was also on birth control, so we never used condoms, however a few times that we had sex I remember going down on her and her vagina smelled just like a condom and whenever i would ask her about it she would say “i have no idea how this happened and why i smell like that”. I was kinda suspicious at the time but i never questioned her since she didn’t really give me reasons to do so while we were together (besides a couple of stuff that were resolved quickly) so i was wondering, is this kind of smell down there normal for women or was my instinct correct at the time?
