How to gently tell a man he stinks (f23, m23) /u/bestbeforeboring Sex

This is a new relationship for us. Basically when he pulls down his underwear to have sex it smells super funky, like shit. Plus he has BO. Really puts me off. Im usually a super blunt person and would just tell him but this is a more tricky topic.

I’m also sensitive to the fact that some people simply did not get taught how to clean themselves adequately and that can sometimes carry on to early adult hood. Also I don’t think it is a laziness issue.

I’m going to tell him tomorrow but just want tips on how to approach this kindly?

I was thinking something like “hey I know you’ve been at work all day so maybe we should have showers before we go to bed tonight” that way its not all about him? But then I’m worried that is too vague. Help!
