So, this one is going to be pretty awkward, but I don’t know where else to go. I hope that it is not too weird for you, certainly is for me and I can hardly discuss it with my friends.
So, I’m 25 years old and have successfully dated older women before, being a ‘cub’, I guess. But, as it turned out recently, I must have sinned a lot for I’m certainly getting punished right now.
Well, to cut the crap, my parents have been divorced for 6 years now, I was really sad when it happened before, but I got used to it by now. Thing is, while my father dated and still dates, as far as I know (we are not really in touch a lot), my mom didn’t, for a pretty long time. And now she does.
So, yesterday she told me she’s been seeing a younger man. Mom is 47 years old, so at first I assumed we could be talking about a guy in his early or mid 40s. Still weird, but no big deal. But, as it turned out, her new ‘boyfriend’ is 22 years old. As she said, they met at the gym (she’s been working out for a while now).
I’m incredibly bummed and feel like this is a punishment for me, since I love dating older women too, now I get to watch it from the other side. She showed me pics, I don’t know the guy and we live in a pretty big city, so him knowing me is unlikely…. but it’s still awkward for me. I’ve been talking to the women I’ve dated, so I feel like I know mom’s logic and it creeps me out.
So, question is, was anyone else in that kind of situation and what advice do you have for me? Mom is really liking that guy and I overheard her talking about him, and… well, I’m stopping here, but I don’t feel OK. Let’s just say that she called him her ‘cub’ and mentioned certain physical features of his that impressed her.
