I guess this is a quick update on my whole getting an IUD implant. My previous post can be found here.
So long story short, I(22f) finally went back in to see my doctor and get my IUD inserted for a bunch of reasons. After years of research and anticipation the day finally came. I expressed some concern to my doc with the size of the IUD as I am pretty petite. (5 ft tall, 100 lbs) but I knew I wanted it.
She assured me i’d be fine. Low and behold we start the procedure that’s supposed to be less than five minutes and it was THE WORST pain I had ever felt. Worst than any kind of sex or cramp etc. She starts to assemble it and then stops to remove it, and measure me. (Sorry if its tmi)
She says it won’t fit properly and I’m not measuring large enough for any popular brand IUD. (Around 6cm). So here I am still feeling the pain of having it in days later, without actually having it in.
I’m so upset because it seemed like the best option to me. Remembering to take a pill everyday seems grueling and I’ve heard horror stories about the depo shot.
Has this ever happened to you? Or what other methods have I looked over that are just as effective and not as demanding? Any advice would be appreciated.
