Hi,
I don’t know if this is the place to ask but I’m really stuck and could use some advice.
So I’ve [22F] taken the combined pill a few years ago and really didn’t feel well after it but now I want to try the patch. I’m a textbook overthinker (I’m in counselling for that among other reasons) so there’s a few things that are making me a bit worried.
-I’m worried that I’ll feel really unwell when I start and that I’ll affect my studies- I’m in my final year of university and about to write my dissertation I’d hate for it to affect me to a point where I could get a worse grade. – I’m going on holiday in June and like any woman I don’t want to bleed… If I don’t take any hormonal contraception now, I’m supposed to avoid my period when I’m there (yay for planning lol) so I’m scared if I start messing with contraception I’ll throw off my cycle completely and I’ll end up getting my period when I’m there.
At the same time, I think this is the best time to try. I live on my own and I’ll be moving back with my parents in April, I can just quietly process things without people constantly around me.
I think I’m just looking for some advice or guidance on if it’s worth trying and how badly I can mess up my cycle before the holiday in June.
Thanks in advance!
