My girlfriend refuses to do things with me that she used to do with her ex. (23M, 29F) /u/7l20 Sex

Some context that is probably relevant. She is the only girl I’ve ever been with, both romantically/sexually, while she’s had many partners in the past. We’ve been together for 1 and a half years now.

Her last ex in particular, was a guy a bit older than her (31) and they were together for almost 2 years. She has mentioned to me directly that sex with him was one of the best she had, and one of the best things of the relationship. This started making me feel insecure, as I had no experience, I was learning stuff and I felt like I would always be worse than him in that aspect.

Now, there are many things that she used to do with him that she refuses to do with me. A big one is birth control. She used to be on birth control with him but she plainly refuses to do it with me. The main thing that bugs me is that she says she never had any side effects from it, so why do it with him but just refuse with me?

There are also other things, such as sexual positions. She mainly does only her on top (normal cowgirl) like 95% and sooometimes missionary or doggy (but I pretty much have to beg for it). I’ve told her many times I would like to try new positions, but she just won’t do them, even though she has mentioned doing them in the past.

She also won’t hold my hand when we’re walking, because she says she “feels weird doing it with me”.

These situations just make me feel very weird. It literally makes me feel like I am just worth less than her ex. Am I overreacting to this?
