Hey y’all. So I’m 30F and I’m a virgin. Not out of religious reasons or anything. Probably various insecurities. I’ve had boyfriends but I’ve usually pushed them away before it got that serious. I’ve done oral stuff but that’s about it. So I know I’m going to hear the “just be honest with him” response but I’ve dug myself in a hole here. I don’t know that I can be honest now. I can live with taking this to the grave.

I’m dating this guy 38M and it’s going very well. It’s been several months and he’s never pressured me to do anything. I’ve never felt this strongly about someone that I’ve been with before, and he knows every part of me. The one, and only thing that I lied about is the fact that I’ve had sexual partners in the past. It was a lie that I told earlier in the relationship and brushed it off, because I wasn’t sure it was going to go anywhere. Now it’s months later and we’re very serious. He’s been very patient and genuinely enjoys just being in my presence. It’s getting to the point where I know, I’m ready to have sex with him.

I guess a few questions I have would be: if you were a man, would you want to know that your partner was a virgin? If you found out would that turn you off from that person? I know a lot of people say that porn isn’t real life but it’s my only reference. what can I do to prepare or practice doing, to make me seem less of an amateur going into this?
